"Berpetualang ke Aceh: Sirih Pulang ke Gagang?"

It is interesting to note that while these books were written in Malay it has gained enough attention to merit being part of the collections of the American Library of Congress and National Library of Australia. Look here and here.

While the first three books were published by my own company, the fourth titled "Rumah Azan" was published in April 2009 by a company called Karnadya with the help of the Malaysian national literary body Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka. It features beautiful pictures along with stories behind selected mosques which could be related to the history of Islam and the Malays alongside the formation of the Malaysian nation. Look at the article A collaboration of old collegemates - the book "Rumah Azan".

My fifth book "Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and Malay Sultanates", an English translation and adaptation of the Malay book "Ahlul Bait (Keluarga) Rasulullah SAW dan Kesultanan Melayu" authored by Hj Muzaffar Mohamad and Tun Suzana Othman was published early 2010. Look here... My 5th book is out! Ahlul Bait (Family) of Rasulullah SAW and the Malay Sultanates... . For more information check out my Malay blogspot CATATAN SI MERAH SILU.

Like my fourth book "Rumah Azan", the sixth book "Kereta Api Menuju Destinasi" is also a coffee-table book which is published by the company Karnadya with the cooperation of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (the main Malay literary body in Malaysia). Coming out January 2011 it features pictures and stories on the adventure travelling by train to all of Peninsular Malaysia along with the interesting places which could be reached this way.

My seventh book "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" in turn is a coffee-table book which is written, editted, designed and has pictures taken by me. Coming out of the factory October 2011, this book which combines family history with history of places such as Singapura, Johor, Batu Pahat, Muar and in fact the history of the island of Java and England has been reviewed with me interviewed live in the program Selamat Pagi Malaysia at RTM1. Look at the article Siaran langsung ulasan buku "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah" dan temu ramah di Selamat Pagi Malaysia. Some selected contents have been featured in Sneak peek "Jejak keluarga Yakin : Satu sketsa sejarah".

Hill climb at Sungai Buaya (part III)

Less then a week ago I went for an afternoon ride when suddenly I felt like going to the foot of this hill.

It was the hill I wanted to climb most at Sungai Buaya. But it looked like the most difficult and that is why I waited for some time before succumbing to the urge. Oh, my 4 plus year-old boy Rasyid was with me.

So there we where making the climb. I had to move slowly and carefully due to the condition of my leg. Hyper-active Rasyid practically ran up and I had to stop him many times for fear or slipping down the slope which could easily crumble.

The hill also looked the most prominent at Sungai Buaya. A look down towards the water reservoir where I had climbed up 3 weeks earlier but didn't mention in previous articles.

On to the summit. Rasyid was still full of energy.

Well, that used to be me able to run up hills like this without fear of slipping, confident of my ability to balance through any obstacle or pick up fast from any slip or fall.

A look from the summit.

Actually the top-most part is bushy. So I was standing from an open part nearby.

I decided to find another vantage point.

From there I went through the usual anti-clockwise many-angled views routine...

To the right you can see the hill I first climbed up at Sungai Buaya. Look at Hill climb at Sungai Buaya (part I).

Note the bushy summit from the said vantage point. It is just slightly lower but provide what looks like a more open vista.

Then we went down retracing back the route taken up.

It's while going down that I took a good look at the lower hill climbed closest to my new house. Look at Hill climb at Sungai Buaya (part II).For the record this is the 1,212th article in this blogspot.

Hill climb at Sungai Buaya (part II)

Two weeks later I went up another hill, the closest to my new house which was then still under repair and renovation.

Zooming towards a certain direction one could see the much higher hill I've climbed two weeks earlier.

Actually right after that climb I went up the hill closer to the house.

But it was only this time that I continued to its highest part and started to savour the view from all angles...

Hill climb at Sungai Buaya (part I)

Peace be upon you all. Feels like getting this off my system...

The broken leg I've suffered since late April last year has limited my moves for quite a long time. It was only 4 months ago or so I can walk again, even then supported by a walking stick. Since then I've entertained the idea of climbing some hills but held back for fear of aggravating the leg. Then I saw this hill close to my new house at Sungai Buaya, Rawang.

These pictures are dated January 6th 2014. I have yet to move to the said new house which was being renovated and repaired. After having a meal at a nearby restaurant, the hil caught my eyes so much that I must attempt a climb. Fighting all doubt regarding the still not 100 per cent full recovered state of the broken leg, I decided to have a go.

I can't run and jump yet. In fact I can't fold my toes without feeling pain. Still I walked slowly but surely up...

That's when I found out there were higher places to reach, places hidden from sight if looked from lower points.

Finally what should be the highest peak of this hill came to sight.

I just have to climb all the way to the top and savour the views, as usual going anti-clockwise...
